Merle French- President
Merle French, President of MHC Inc, taught school for 17 years after receiving a BA from Sam Houston State and a Master of Education degree from Texas A & M. Her love for teaching small children is reflected in her naming her company – Mother Hubbard’s Cupboards- after an old English nursery rhyme. "Ole Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard (pantry cabinet) to get her poor dog a bone....” She founded MHC in 1994 at Canyon Lake, Texas. When her family moved to Bryan in 1998, Merle transferred her Canyon Lake home office to Bryan. In January 2004 MHC moved to its present location at 605 E. Blackshear St. in Navasota, Texas.Merle shares a love of kitchen, bath design and a joy of woodworking with her husband of 48 years – Gayle French. Both Merle and Gayle have expertise in cabinet design. Beauty and functionality of a kitchen design are a hallmark of MHC Inc.
MHC Inc. specializes in doors, cabinets, and countertops. Gayle and Merle have many years of experience in the multifamily industry providing turnkey work in cabinets for both new and renovated job sites.

Gayle French - Sales Manager
Gayle French, Sales Manager, is widely known throughout the cabinet industry. He has had over 45 years of experience in the manufacturing and sales of cabinets. Gayle’s past experience saw him as Contract Sales Manager for Sears in the late seventies. During the eighties, nineties and the early 2000’s Gayle worked for Leedo Cabinets as Sales Manager and Vice President.Always fascinated with the frameless Euro 32mm system, Gayle has specialized in the manufacture of this full access cabinets Also, specializing in the RTF (rigid thermo foil) door manufacturing with multiple colors & styles. MHC Inc. also benefited from his knowledge of wood door manufacturing and now makes unfinished wood doors in poplar, oak, maple and knotty alder. Under Gayle’s direction MHC now specializes in full access cabinet production utilizing both RTF and paint grade wood doors.
Raised in the Bryan-College Station area, Gayle returned to his family home in 1998.
Currently, MHC works with many remodelers in Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Dallas and surrounding areas.

Derek French
Derek French, Production Manager, has worked, in the cabinet business MHC for thirty years. His areas of expertise are computer related with database systems & spreadsheets. Derek converts the salesmen’s designs into shop lingo for production. He is also a pretty good cabinet machine mechanic.Derek attended San Antonio and St. Phillips Colleges in San Antonio. He holds various certificates in computer technology.

Aracely (Shelly) Cazares
Shelly Cazares worked at MHC from 2010 - 2013, She worked both in the shop operating machinery and building cabinets before coming to work on the office. Shelly left in 2013 to finish her accounting degree at Sam Houston State University she runs the shop and the office.
